Lately if your hand gets near Preston's mouth you can guarantee he will be sucking on it! Tonight, he was chowing away on daddy! So cute!

Little Man and his DOC Band!

Well, today was the day! We took Preston in for his custom DOC Band!  He will have it about 8 weeks / 23 hours a day!  He did excellent! He didn't fuss, pull, grab or cry! I must admit, he is a little cutie in it! We will get used to it for the next few days and go back next Wednesday for a check. Once all is good at that appointment, I will begin decorating! I have some inspiration.... now just need to go buy my supplies! :-)

He knows he looks cute!
He fell right to sleep in it!  Good sign!

First Taste of Rice Cereal...

Tonight we tried our first attempt at giving Preston some rice cereal.... needless to say.... he wasn't a huge fan!  HAHA!  The videos pretty much say it all!  We will keep trying though!  :-)

Little Man- 4 Months!!!

Our little man is 4 months old today! It's been a fun month as Preston has continued to put not only his hands in his mouth but anything he can get in there... specifically burp clothes and toys!  We are working on rolling over and tummy time with him, which admittidly are not his favorite but he is a good sport!  He loves his play matt, bathtime, and the "skinamarink a dink-y dink" song!  He is laughing and giggling and just being a GREAT baby!

DOC Band DIC Scan

Today was the day!  Preston went to Cranial Technologies for his DIC Scan so they can make his customised helmet.... He did amazing and never fussed.  They put this stocking type thing over his head (don't worry, he can fully breathe through it) and then took 4D pictures to get a complete view of his head.  Preston spent most of the time trying to lick the bank robber stocking on his head, which was rather funny!  From this scan they will build his "halo" and we will go in next Wednesday for the fitting.  From there, we will go in weekly to have him and the band checked and tweaked as needed.  Our check book is a little lighter, but it will be worth it in the end (we hope)!  HAHA!  We know for a fact that he will be the cutest DOC Band baby EVER!

DOC Band..

As I mentioned in an earlier post, we have noticed the back of Preston's head has become very mishaped the last couple of months (FYI, pictures I post are a little misleading as his issue is the back of his head!).  After a check up with our pediatrician, he recommended we pursue a DOC Band or baby helmet to assist in reshaping little man's noggin. So, following an evaluation at Cranial Technologies (, lots of research, consultation with an Occupational Therapist and Cranial Specialist, discussion with parents who have experienced the band and more.... we have decided to move forward with the baby helmet.  The specialists say because we are taking action early, Preston should only have to wear it for approximately 6-8 weeks, 23 hours a day.  We are going in Wednesday morning to have him scanned and from there they will make his mold and create his helmet.  Believe me, Jason and I did not come to this decision lightly... but we think it will be beneficial for him long term!  All I know is, he is going to be the cutest little guy in a DOC Band ever!

Story Time with the Tesoriero Girlies!

We spent Saturday afternoon with the Tesoriero's and Miss Mia and Miss Gabriella were practicing their future babysitter skills excellently!  They read a total of 8 books to Preston and successfull put him to sleep for his nap!  Then Miss G helped me put a little sleeping nook together in her mom's room where Preston could sleep!  These girls will be fabulous babysitters in the future!  Mia has already quoted us a rate of $100.01 for 5 babysitting sessions!  SOLD!  We are gonna hold her to that!  :-)

Bathtime Babies Swim Class

Our wonderful neighbors told us about a swim class in Southlake called Bathrime Babies.  It is for 2-6 month old babies and it is set up as an intro to the water type class for little ones.  So after being on the wait list for a few days, Jason and I finally got into the class (which is free and on Saturdays).  In the class, they sing songs, get the kiddos used to having water splashed on their face, try to work on holding the wall, and more!  Here are some pics or our little man in his first official class.  Sorry the pics are not the best, it was hard with the big windows behind them bringing in all the light!

The Reader!

I think we have a reader on our hands! Every night we have a routine... Bottle, bath, books then bed! He does really well and seems to really like the pictures (as much as he can)! Preston being a genius sponge aside, I hope this nightly ritual continues for a long time, it's just so sweet!!!

Learning to Grab!

Preston is learning to grab at things now and loves grabbing the dangly items on his playmat.... of course he grabs at them and tries to put them in his mouth... but he is grabbing nonetheless!

Pool Fun at the Horst Resort!

Thank you so much to the Horst's for another wonderful weekend at their place!!!! We appreciate you guys and always love staying at the "Horst Resort"!!!  Preston did well in the pool again, though he isn't to the splashing and laughing part of pool time yet.... he didn't scream and fuss so another success in my book!
